Fail for Five Years? Here's How Tim Denning Made It Work

On 𝕏, one of my favorite creators is Tim Denning.

He's made millions simply by sharing his ideas and what he has learned as a writer.

When I analyzed his journey as a creator, something really surprised me: for his first five years, he wrote and published nonstop—and got ZERO traction.

Then something switched. I found three factors that helped Tim win big:

1. Trial and Error Can't Work if You're Alone

For years, Tim tried to "get it right" through trial and error on his own. He was writing online alone, without an audience or any external feedback. That's the perfect way to waste time. I know many creators who gave up because of this.

His growth as a creator received an immediate boost when he joined a group of like-minded creators. That's when he finally got the support, fresh ideas, and honest feedback that helped him level up.

If you want to move faster, don't go solo. Join a creator community, attend a virtual coworking session, or build a small group chat on X with others who share similar goals. You'll be more motivated, get better feedback, and stick with it longer.

2. Build a Business—Stop Selling Time

Most creators remain stuck, chasing small payments for content, client work, or gigs.

Tim's advice: treat your content as a business, not just a hustle. The creators who win build email lists, launch products, and create services—so their work keeps earning for them, even when they're offline.

Package your best work into a paid resource, host a workshop, or start a subscription community. Build assets—not just output.

3. Don't Wait to Be an "Expert"—Share & Stand Out

Tim made millions without a fancy degree or credentials.

The secret? Share your story, your lessons, and your journey in your own voice. Stand out by being a little polarizing or taking a strong position—don't play it safe.

Post about a mistake you made (and what you learned), take a bold stance on a trend, or share a lesson you wish someone had told you earlier. People want realness, not perfection.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT Agent Can Now Run Your Computer for You

OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Agent—a virtual AI assistant that can navigate a full computer interface to complete tasks for you. It’s powered by a new model trained on complex, multi-step workflows, such as planning meetings, creating slide decks, or ordering groceries. It’s rolling out now to Pro, Plus, and Team users.

Most Leads Die in the Middle

Marketing teams often focus on the top and bottom of the funnel, but overlook the middle, where 80% of leads typically go cold. That trust-building zone between “check us out” and “buy now” is where real decisions happen. Ahrefs and HubSpot solved it by acting like media companies: producing weekly content, offering education, and demonstrating patience. It works, but most won’t stick with it long enough.

7 Consumer Shifts Marketers Can’t Afford to Ignore

In 2025, buyers want seamless, hybrid shopping experiences that combine online and offline elements. They expect convenience, transparency, and AI-powered experiences. Homes now double as offices, gyms, and stores, reshaping how and where products are marketed. Brand loyalty is fading fast—what matters most is social proof, personalization, and real value.
