I demand you read this

Today, one of our customers demanded we give him a free month of Hypefury.

Why?

Because š• had that outage a couple of days back, and a few of his posts failed.

He would leave to a competitor if he didnā€™t get his free month.

I am called into about 0.1% of support tickets we receive. This was one of them.

I told him I was sorry his posts failed and explained that if we could have done anything about the situation, we would have compensated him.

As this was force majeur, we couldnā€™t be held accountable. Despite that, we still offered him a discount on his next month.

He doubled down on his demand.

I stayed polite and told him we couldnā€™t offer the free month but also kept an opening and asked if there was any other way I could help.

Demanding something is the last thing you should do in these situations IMO.

He overplayed his hand and I donā€™t appreciate people who think they can treat us as their little b*tch.

The most important thing for content creators to take from this, and Iā€™ve been guilty of this too, is:

When you spend a lot of time on content and it flops, you can get in the same mindset.

Demanding peopleā€™s attention to your post. Thinking youā€™re entitled to their attention just because you spent a lot of time on something. You become frustrated.

You couldnā€™t have been more wrong, though.

Spending a lot of time on something doesnā€™t equate to providing value.

If your post flops, itā€™s because people just arenā€™t interested.

Take the hit. Regroup. Learn. Try again.

Donā€™t be a little b*tch and take your Lā€™s as a man and keep taking those punches until your Lā€™s turn into Wā€™s.
