GROWTH TIPS

The cure for imposter syndrome

Out of one hundred people on social media, only a few actively participate. Ex. liking posts and replying to posts. The rest lurk and read.

Out of the few participants, only a fraction posts on their own timelines regularly.

The biggest reason is anxiety.

  • What will people think of me when I publish this?

  • No, I shouldn’t post this. This is stupid.

  • Someone wrote about this already.

Having anxiety is actually a great thing to have. It means you want to be loved and to be part of a group of like-minded people.

The problem is: How do I get over my anxiety?

The solution: By talking about your fear. Vividly.

Why?

Out of all the lurkers, readers, and passives on social media, 99% of them probably have the same feelings as you. They are scared to be at the center of attention. Scared to be judged and scared to be criticized.

They can still hear their mom, dad, or teacher criticizing them, telling them they’re not good enough or that they can do better.

Well, this is me telling you: You are good enough the way you are. And you can teach people more than you think.

If you open up to them, you will find like-minded people. People open up to people just like them.

And to close off with, here’s an offer for anyone reading this:

If you have a draft or you ever want to run something by someone before posting it, my DMs and inboxes are open.

Message me anywhere with your draft and I’ll help you feel comfortable enough to hit [publish]. I’ll also give your post some 💙 too.

NEWS CREATOR SHOULD KNOW

Meta Highlights Threads Growth Amid Bluesky Buzz

Yesterday, Meta reported 35 million new Threads sign-ups in November, with sign-up rates increasing in the past two weeks.

This seems an attempt to counter the narrative of Bluesky’s rise. It’s important to note that the number of active users, not just sign-ups, is the key metric in the platform race.

Side note: Hypefury already supports Threads, and we’re working to offer support for Bluesky ASAP.

How to Create a Feed on Bluesky

Bluesky users can follow various feeds that display different types of posts. They can even create their own to show the kinds of posts they prefer.
