When you’re just starting out on social media, you either think: I’m gonna wait and see or I’m gonna make it.
At least you have a good mindset when you’re in the second group!
The first group might grow into posting online, but they’ll have a lot harder time building an audience.
The problem with almost all social media these days is that if you think you’re gonna make it, you know nothing about the algorithm. You need people to like and comment on your post EVEN if you post the best content out there.
TikTok and YouTube Shorts have an excellent discoverability algo for people without any followers. But on 𝕏, Threads and BlueSky, you need followers our your posts will get no views at all.
That’s why it’s so important to find a tribe and not just when starting out!
So look for communities on 𝕏, Starter Packs on BlueSky (and Mark will soon rip something off for Threads too). Look for likeminded people. Engage with them in the groups they already engage in and make some friends!
They will support the growth of your own profile once you start posting outside that group.
I think it’s one of the reasons 𝕏 communities got started. People new to 𝕏 just can’t get a lot of traction. So use the power of communities to get ahead. It’s also a great way to test new ideas. See what people like and don’t.

Threads Hits 100M Daily Active Users
Threads by Meta now boasts over 300 million monthly active users and 100 million daily active users. This is the first time Threads has disclosed daily active user numbers.
The platform is also topping the latest chart of most downloaded iOS apps.
𝕏 has 570 million monthly active users, and at its current growth rate, Threads could exceed 500 million MAU early in the new year.
YouTube Tests Voice Replies for Creators
YouTube is testing a feature that lets creators reply to comments with voice notes, adding a personal touch to boost fan engagement.
Based on YouTube announcement:
“If you’re a creator in the test group, you can click the sound wave icon when responding to a comment → record a voice reply → then post it as a comment. While we gather feedback in the experiment phase, voice replies can only be left by creators on their own channel via the YouTube app on iOS, but all viewers and creators can engage with these comments.”
Instagram Introduces DM Scheduling
Instagram is rolling out a DM scheduling feature, as reported by Lindsey Gamble.
Users can compose a message, hold the send button, and select a date and time for delivery. Scheduled messages will display a confirmation in the chat, with an option to schedule additional messages.
